Interpreter

Are you looking for a sworn interpreter?

I'm a sworn Portuguese interpreter, enrolled as such in the Rbtv (Registry of Sworn Interpreters and Translators) of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, which means I'm authorised to carry out sworn interpreting services

What is a sworn interpreter?

The profession of sworn interpreter is a protected one, subject to the Wbtv (the sworn interpreters and translators act). In order to be allowed to work as a sworn interpreter, an interpreter must be enrolled with the Rbtv (Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators) and be sworn in as an interpreter by the court, on the basis of that registration. Enrolment is subject to stringent demands, in particular in the area of training.

A sworn interpreter is authorised to interpret for clients such as:
- Lawyers
- Courts
- The IND (Dutch immigration authority)
- The police
