Sworn translator
Looking for a sworn translator?
I'm a sworn Portuguese translator, registered as such in the Rbtv (Registry of Sworn Interpreters and Translators) of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, which means I'm authorised to make sworn translations.
What exactly is a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is one which is stapled to the document supplied for translation and accompanied by the sworn declaration, signature and official stamp of the sworn translator. The declaration by the sworn translator indicates that the translated text is a faithful translation of the attached text.
Apostille or authentication stamp
In Dutch courts, the sworn translator's signature can be authenticated, where necessary, by way of an apostille or authentication stamp.

Register of sworn interpreters and translators
In accordance with the Wbtv (the sworn interpreters and translators act) which came into force on 1 January 2009, a sworn translation may only be issued by a translator who is registered with the Rbtv. The translator must also be sworn in as a translator by a Dutch court. Enrolment is subject to stringent demands, in particular in the area of training.
